A Harvest of Souls!

Christmas is always a busy time of the year. With all the festivities, it is easy for us to get side tracked from the true meaning of the celebration. How needful that boys and girls hear the true message of Christmas "…making the best use of the time, because the days are evil…". (Ephesians 5:16)

Here were opportunities God gave us to minister to children during the Christmas season:

Dec 2- 4 : Street Children Camp 2008
(see other blog)

Dec 13 : Christmas Party Club for Good News Clubbers

Praise God for 118 children from different Good News Clubs® who attended the Christmas Party at the CEF Center; with 25 of them professing faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank God for our friends from the Christ Commission Fellowship (CCF) who sponsored the giveaways of groceries and door prizes.

Dec 16-20 : Christmas Classes
In cooperation with some of our local areas, the national office staff conducted 273 Christmas Clubs where 9,022 children heard the Gospel and 7,087 prayed to receive the Lord Jesus as Savior. Praise the Lord for co-workers who worked hard allowing us to exceed our target of 250 Christmas clubs; and for His abundant resources which was beyond what we expected.

Dec 19 : East Gate Baptist Church Pre-School Christmas Party
In a Christmas Party of EGBC (a preschool), both children and their parents heard the message of salvation through the (please state what activity you had, Mae). What joy to note that 90% of them accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior.

Dec 22-23 : Christmas Clubs for Street Children in Tropical, Cainta and Concepcion, Marikina
Through our Christmas Clubs in Tropical, Cainta and in Concepcion, Marikina, we were able to reach out to beggars, vendors and street children -- 54 of them. Praise God for 42 who prayed the sinner’s prayer. They had the joy to receive toys and clothing courtesy of one of our partners, the Jubilee Christian Academy. Thank you so much for making the time extra special for the kids.

Dec 26-30 : Post Christmas Classes in La Union
After Christmas, our coordinator in La Union invited me to help in conducting Christmas Clubs in the area. The Lord be praised for children who heard the gospel. In due time, the seeds planted will bear fruit in the lives of the children.

Thank you for your support in prayers and gifts -- December was truly a harvest of souls for us. “Not that I seek the gift but I seek the fruit that increases to your credit." (Phil 4:17)

May you be blessed with increasing joy and God’s rich provisions for the new year.

Serving Him with you,

mae

STREET CHILDREN CAMP 2008

Praise God for the success of the Camp for Street Children last Dec 2-4, 2008, whose themed: "May mensahe ang Diyos para sa'yo". (God has message for you.) It was attended of 41 Children and 15 Counselors. 23 accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior, 8 was assured by their salvation. During the last night of the camp the preacher ask them to surrender their lives and their vices by standing in the circle in front, thank God for 32 children stand ready to turn from their vices like drugs, smoking, drinking alcohol, taking rugby, etc and surrendered to God. Children were crying wanted to get away from this thing that withholds their future. God gave them hope for the future by trusting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. God is at work in every session using teachers challenged them Christian virtues to those accepted Christ already and salvation to none Christian.

Children were blessed to accept clothes, blanket, school materials, slippers, bags etc. thanks for those sponsors that God uses to give to these unfortunate children. It's hard to say goodbye in the last day but we'll see each other again in a Good News Club® as follow-up program for them.

Everyone in the camp learned so much even the counselors and me!

Glory to God with all that He has done!

What joy to share with you God’s mighty work among the children!

I praise the Lord  for  the opportunity to once again go  with   the Elementary School Evangelistic Campaign (ESEC)  team  for its  evangelistic efforts in  the  public schools. Since I was assigned in the Children’s Ministry department,  I missed the privilege  to go places and share  about the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ to the little ones.

Excited, I joined the team last August  18-31 when they  went up  to Abra and  to La Union last September 1-12.  The first school we visited in Abra approved of our Book of Hope  distribution   but refrained us  from teaching the Wordless Book. We were in a dilemma. We cannot leave out the most important  message  the children needed to hear – the message of salvation.  For this  purpose we went.  We did not want to leave  without their  hearing about the One, True God, realizing  that  the best time to teach them  is now, while they are  young and their hearts are  tender.

What do we do? We shared the Wordless Book anyway!  And God intervened.  We were able to share the  wonderful message of salvation to the children without us getting caught.  We believe "This was according to the eternal purpose that he has realized in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through our faith in Him" (Eph 3:11-12).  Praise the Lord!

We give glory to God for those  four weeks.  About 20,000 children were reached with over 19,000 of them professing  faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Our co-workers  who are  pioneering the work in these areas are  seeing to it that these children are  followed up through our discipleship classes and  eventually channeled to nearby Bible-believing churches..

A CEF  song goes...  'Around the corner, around the world a child needs Jesus a child whose never heard, Let’s take the Good News Lets take God's living Word, Around the corner, Around the world.  That includes the children of Abra and La Union. I am glad that we could go to these children. And that we could go  with you because you prayed and gave sacrificially.

Thank you for being my partner in reaching the  children!

Thank you very much for your prayers. The Lord bless you abundantly.
